Dr. Phil Anderson - Managing Director
Dr Anderson is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on the ISM Code and marine safety management. He combines a practical seagoing background as Master Mariner with 25 years work in P&I insurance working in claims and risk management as well a distinguished academic career. Phil established ConsultISM in 2004.

Captain David McFarlane - Project Manager
David has had a long and very successful career initially at sea, particularly onboard tankers, and then with ship management companies as ship operator, ship manager and quality and safety manager. He brings to ConsultISM a wealth of valuable experience and relevant knowledge.

Captain Peter Cooney - Business Development Advisor
To provide structure and help manage the growth and development of ConsultISM and to provide support to the management team Captain Peter Cooney has been retained as a business development mentor. Retiring from his position as CEO of V Ships a few years ago Captain Cooney has remained actively involved in the shipping industry.

Steven Jones - Reportism Editor
Editor of our quarterly ISM newsletter, ReportISM, Steven Jones is also a specialist in maritime security. Experienced in marine fraud investigations and a security specialist at a major Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Association, Steven has advised many shipping companies on their security planning.
