Consultants and Expert Witnesses
Increasingly Courts, Arbitration tribunals and Formal Inquires around the world are recognising the relevance of the ISM Code and safety management when adjudicating upon commercial, civil and criminal cases following maritime accidents. ConsultISM staff is almost uniquely placed to provide relevant consultancy and expert witness services in these cases.
Safety Audits and Management Reviews
Whether acting on behalf of a ship operator – undertaking a ‘health check’ on their own SMS or as a risk assessment exercise on behalf of a P&I Club, Underwriter, Charterer or Bank; ConsultISM staff can attend in the office ashore and onboard ship to provide an independent and confidential assessment of how well the SMS is set up and is working in practice. Practical advice on how the SMS can be improved and assistance with developing and implementing those improvements can also be provided.
In conjunction with Maersk Training Centre UK Ltd., Consultism offers a wide range of education and training programmes relevant to marine safety management, the ISM Code and accident prevention to both shore staff and seafarers.
ConsultISM is also a full member of GlobalMET - which has NGO status at IMO - providing input on maritime education.
ConsultISM undertakes marine safety related research projects and consultancy projects for a wide range of clients including the United Nations / IMO, the UK Government / MCA, the International Chamber of Shipping, Videotel and many more.
