Welcome to this website dedicated to the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention – the International Safety Management (ISM) Code of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). The site reflects research I undertook into the implementation of the ISM Code in 2001 and now moves the debate forward in a positive way towards making ships safer and seas cleaner.

The purpose of the site is to provide an international focus for ISM research and debate. In addition the site will act as an authoritative reference source of information and data about the ISM Code and related issues. Dr. Phil Anderson, D.Prof. B.A. (Hons.) FNI., Master Mariner
