COURSES

The ConsultISM team offers a wide range of training packages relating to marine safety management, the ISM Code, maritime risk assessment, maritime risk management as well as other related topics which are essential for anybody involved in or associated with the role of Designated Person Ashore, or a member of the Safety Team. 

ConsultISM Ltd also offer in-house, bespoke programmes to those in either the role of the DPA, Operational, Technical or Safety Personnel, as well as to Company CEOs and Senior Management with the aim of deriskification  -  our aim is to help you take the risk out of your company.

Many of our packages are run in conjunction with Maersk Training Centre UK Ltd where the specialist expertise of the ConsultISM team combines with the advanced training and educational skills of the Maersk team to deliver practical programmes which are second to none.

Our most successful joint venture with Maersk Training Centre UK Ltd is the unique, interactive DPA Programme which comprises an 8 Module Computer Based Training (CBT) Package complemented by a 2-day very interactive workshop around the world.   Forthcoming dates are shown below.

This Course is recognised by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as meeting the requirements of IMO Circular MSC-MEPC.7/Circ.6 Section 5.  The course comprises two parts:

Part 1:  Computer Based Training (CBT) Package online tutor and support with CBT comprising (approximately 25 hours):

1.       Knowledge and understanding of the ISM Code

2.       Mandatory rules and regulations

3.       Applicable Codes, guidelines and standards as appropriate

4.       Verification and monitoring

5.       Technical or operational aspects of safety management

6.       Appropriate knowledge of shipping and shipboard operations

7.       Effective communications with shipboard staff and senior management

8.       Potential legal implications of the ISM Code and the importance of compliance

Part 2:  Complemented by a 2- Day Practical, Interactive Workshop including:

·      Familiarisation with your Company’s SMS

·      Causal factors from incidents

·      Crew resource management

·      Emergency preparedness

·      Management tools

·      How to respond to different situations

·      Leadership

·      Culture

·      Your Role as DPA

·      ISM Code

Certification provided to all participants on successful completion of the CBT and workshop
